| The Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop was founded as the Northeast Tuba Euphonium Workshop by Michael S. Milnarik in 2006. Salem State College, in historic Salem, Massachusetts, was the location of the 2006 and 2007 workshops. To accommodate the growing number of participants the workshop moved to the campus of Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In 2010 the Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop will be held at East Stroudsburg University, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania - in the beautiful Pocono Mountains! |
| The mission of the Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop is to enhance the skill level of individuals that play the tuba or euphonium - based on their level at the beginning of the current session - in a non-competitive, structured, fun and educational environment. |
| Participants are comprised of high school students, college students, adults and select middle school students (entering the 9th grade). This mixture represents many different levels of performance, experience and backgrounds. |
| All participants will get to rehearse and perform with a professional pianist, and perform as part of a chamber ensemble. Participants audition for placement at the beginning of the workshop ONLY to be placed in chamber ensembles of similar performance ability in order to maximize their ensemble experience. |
